Dear David, (2023)

I wrote a letter to David Teniers II (1610-1690), one of the co-founders of the Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. During my studies at this institution, I felt the urge to get in contact with him, especially about his views on agriculture. Since Teniers II is know for his suger-coated peasent scenes, I imagine a conversation with him and Realist painter Gustave Coubert . The letter is placed on the empty pedestal in the garden of the Academy: a pedestal where a statue of Teniers II once stood.
